DESCRIPTION:

This lovely family based in Kensington are looking for an ITALIAN or SPANISH speaking full-time nanny with fluent English, to join them as soon as possible, ideally in March but they are also open to an April start.

They have an active, chatty and engaged 2-year-old boy and are expecting their second baby at the end of April 2025. They want someone who they can trust and who has a genuine love for babies and young children, who is very energetic and hardworking.

The mum will be on maternity leave until September/October and during that time primary care would be for the toddler, but once mum is back at work the nanny would be expected to care for both children full time, sole charge.

The ideal candidate would be a nanny who is proactive and outgoing, who will be very engaging with the children and can support their development by reading, playing, organising activities and taking them to park/local activities. Someone with great organisational skills, who is enthusiastic and has a positive attitude.

Duties include all standard nursery duties such as preparing meals and meal planning nutritional meals for the children, planning daily activities, maintaining routine, organising his wardrobe.

Their son attends nursery 3 hours in the mornings which will leave the nanny with plenty of time for meal planning, cooking and grocery shopping. They have a housekeeper a few times each week who helps with all other duties.

Both parents have busy jobs and travel a lot. If the nanny is happy to do occasional ad hoc weekend babysitting that would be a bonus and ideally you live close to the family due to the long hours. Flexibility is key for this role and someone who wants a long-term role and job stability.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Native Spanish or Italian speaker with fluent English is preferred. Minimum of 8 years nannying experience with babies from newborn/3 months up to pre-school age. Childcare qualifications and professional development are highly valued as well as a very good understanding of the milestones and stages of development for babies and toddlers. An interest in cooking fresh nutritional meals for the children is also important as well as experience with weaning, toilet training and helping the children to meet all developmental milestones. Flexibility to babysit occasionally, some travel a few times per year (no more than 2 weeks) and proxy parenting if parents go away for work.

DUTIES:

Usual nanny duties and responsibilities to care for the children to include:

  • All nursery duties, children’s laundry and keep all their areas tidy and organised

  • Cook fresh healthy nutritional meals for the children from scratch and meal planning in advance, sometimes bigger portions for parents if time permits

  • Stimulate the children’s social development through English and Spanish or Italian conversation and engaging play

  • Follow and adapt routines as the toddler and baby gets older e.g., nap times

  • Organise children’s clothes, toys and maintain good hygiene

  • Stimulate through play, music, books, art, age-appropriate activities

  • Plan, suggest and take children to local activities, playgroups and arrange playdates

  • Feeding, changing and general care for the baby working in partnership with mum while on maternity leave

  • Babysitting if needed with advance notice and occasional travel for up to two weeks once or twice per year e.g. to Italy this summer.

  • Flexibility to start earlier or finish later if needed due to parents work schedules (advance notice always given)
