DESCRIPTION:

This wonderful family is looking for a caring, organised, and playful full-time MANDARIN speaking nanny with at least 6 years’ experience working with babies from 3 months to support second time kind parents who work full time. The parents are open-minded, hands on and supportive and would like to find a long-term nanny who can join their family. They are looking for an educationally focussed nanny to support them with caring for their gorgeous baby son who will be born in April and their 4-year-old daughter. She is currently attending a local pre-school and will start school in September. They also have a cute small little dog who requires very little care.

They would like a switched-on energetic nanny who genuinely loves her job, is interested in early years development and is passionate about working with babies, toddlers and school age children. You need to be confident to care for two children on your own and manage their different ages and needs. They value a nanny who likes to actively engage with babies and young children and who deeply cares about supporting their development and enriching them.

Their ideal candidate would have knowledge of early childhood development so they can support their baby to reach all his developmental milestones. The nanny will be responsible for all aspects of care, including feeding/weaning, bathing, nursery duties and devising a set of activities to support child development.

They are particularly excited to work with a nanny who likes to take initiative to plan activities, find lovely local classes and organise playdates. You should enjoy and proactively suggest activities for the baby such as crafts, reading, physical development etc. and support both children to be independent thinkers. They also value a fun approach and someone who has worked with International families.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Someone who can be flexible, hardworking, punctual and reliable

  • Happy to work in partnership with the parents

  • Be comfortable with family being around as mum will be on maternity leave for the first 4 months and is sometimes working from home

  • Flexibility to start earlier on occasions due to the parents’ work

  • Open to some travel when the mum has to work abroad (advance notice given)

  • Speak in Mandarin to the children but also have a fluent level of English

DUTIES:

  • All nursery duties and keep all children’s areas tidy and organised (they have a cleaner that comes to do deep cleaning)

  • Cook fresh healthy varied meals for the children from scratch and meal plan

  • Take the children outdoors daily to local parks, classes and activities

  • Pick up from school most days by going on the bus with both children (20 minutes door to door)

  • Stimulate their social development through conversation in Mandarin and engagement through play, music, books, art

  • Focus on supporting the baby’s development and milestones

  • Organise playdates and ensure the children are socialising with other children of their ages

  • Travel if needed – no more than 1-2 weeks at a time

  • Flexibility to work overtime if needed and do occasional babysitting
