HOURS: 7:30/8am – 6:30/7pm (55 hours per week)
Friday could be a 5pm finish

DESCRIPTION: 

This wonderful family is looking for a gentle, kind, and nurturing full-time loving nanny with at least 8 years’ experience working with babies from 11 months to support first time parents. The parents are both professional, hardworking, and supportive and would like to find a baby led nanny who can take exceptional care of their gorgeous and very calm 10-month-old son who turns one in August. They would like their nanny to be totally trustworthy, very safety and hygiene conscious as well as someone who enjoys exposing a child to new experiences.

This wonderful role will suit a nanny who genuinely loves her job, is interested in early development and is passionate about working with babies and toddlers. As they are first time parents, they are looking for a nanny who can offer advice and support and be able to organise everything related to the child's needs from taking him to local classes/activities to cooking his meals.

They would also like the nanny to be very developmentally focussed and support their baby to meet all his milestones, plan appropriate activities for him, introduce him to new experiences and be proactive in helping him socialise and enrich him. If you have a childcare qualification this is a bonus, and they value a nanny who will listen to their son’s needs and follow his routine which is more baby led so you need to be happy with a flexible approach too.

It is essential you speak a fluent level of English, and an Italian or German speaker would be a bonus. Ideally you live close to Belsize Park or can get to their home easily due to the long hours. This is a sole charge role, and the mum will be working from home for the first 6 months and then around 1 or 2 days per week after.

They need a professional nanny who can be calm, relaxed, hardworking and reliable, and to naturally follow their gentle parenting approach.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 8 years nannying experience with babies from 11 months up to pre-school age. Childcare qualifications and professional development are valued as well as a very good understanding of the milestones and stages of development for babies and toddlers. It is ideal if you have worked with first time parents before, so you understand the role and can make subtle suggestions. An interest in cooking fresh nutritional meals for the baby is also important as well as experience with baby led weaning, toilet training and helping him to meet all developmental milestones using a baby led approach.

• All nursery duties, baby’s laundry and keep all his areas tidy and organised.
• Cook fresh healthy meals for the baby from scratch with no refined sugars or processed food.
• Take him for daily walks and fresh air, playing outdoors as he gets older.
• Stimulate his social development through conversation and engaging play.
• Follow and adapt routines as he gets older, e.g. nap times.
• Organise his clothes, toys and maintain good hygiene.
• Stimulate through play, music, books, art, age-appropriate activities.
• Suggest and take baby to local activities, London Zoo and playgroups.
• Feeding, changing and general care for the baby.
• Following all daily routines.
• Babysitting if needed very occasionally with advance notice and possible occasional travel once per year if interested but both are not a requirement of the job.
